How do seed - bearing plants tide over dry and hot weather conditions ? |
|
Answer» In seed - bearing plants, seed and some other vegetative reproductive structures serve as a means to tide over periods of stress besides helping in dispersal. They do so by reducing their metabolic activity and going into a state of 'dormancy'. They germinate to form new plants under favourable moisture and temperature condition. |
