Answer» Since USA and Former USSR emerged as the power blocks of capitalists versus COMMUNISTS, many states starting getting influenced. Whenever a county gets independence, it knows that it needs certain aspects to survive in the existing global world. It needs some alliances, some trading groups, some military alliances and a GOOD geographical location with ample resources. So obviously when the power bloc's emerged, the NEWLY INDEPENDENT countries had something to do. They needed the support of some other countries and that is how they got influenced. Another reason was ideology.Whoever THOUGHT their ideology was that of the capitalists, they went to the capitalists and whoever thought their ideology was with the communists, so they leaned towards USSR bloc.
