Future expected impacts of climate change are often better described as “global wierding”: hot regions will get hotter, some regions will get slightly colder, wet regions will get wetter, dry regions will get dryer, … and everywhere will see an increase in the severity and frequency of natural disasters. Climate refugees are already the largest PERCENTAGE of refugees in the world. Future climate related disasters will include heat waves, floods, forest fires and hurricanes, and changing coastlines. The loss of human life is an inevitable and very disturbing reality. In the FACE of the prediction that most of the world’s coastal cities will be submerged in a hundred year’s time, all the concerns raised thus far about wind turbines pale by comparison. Wind energy is one of many forms of renewable energy, all of which are urgently NEEDED if we are to do our part in the race against climate change.
