Answer» Lavinia hosted an Ouija Board party to which she invited all the members of her book club. Since one of the members was absent, she called John Hallock to be the partner of Laura Hinkle. The moment Laura twinkle started asking the Ouija Board some questions, all the boards spelt out 'traitor' pointing towards Hallock by indicating 'Ask him'. Lavinia was informed of this by Laura and she suspected her husband of infidelity. After the party she went to his room and informed him that she was leaving the house and that her lawyer would talk to him later. Their marriage was on the verge of a break-up. At that moment, she noticed Helen's presence in the room. She realized that Helen was not a real person. It was only a spirit and immediately concluded to herself that Hallock could not be having an affair with a ghost. Thus, she got rid of her superstitious belief in Ouija Boards and told her cook to throw them in fire. |
