Answer» Epidermis produces a water resistance chemical called cutin on the body of cactus. So that transpiration does not take place from stomata. Epidermis help the cactus by protect their skin layer and against the loss of water which transpirate by their skin . That why water will not transpirate from skin and water will be mantain in cactus .
