Answer» In fungi, the mycelial cell wall is generally composed of chitin (a polymer of acetyglucosamine units), whereas, cell wall of prokaryotes consists of peptidoglycan which contains polymers of modified sugars (N-acetyl glucosamine and N-acetyl mumaric acid ) cross-linked by short peptides.
