ACCORDINGLY to the historical evidence PRESENT to us it's Chandragupta maurya. ( 321 - 297 bce )

But some studies also that before Chandragupta maurya, there were various kings but it's not confirmed. But if we believe that ramayan and vedic events were true, then in vishnu PURAN first king was Raja Manu.
