How the leaks of halocarbon refrigerants detected explain.

Answer»

Leaks of Freon/halocarbon refrigerants are detected with a halide (alcohol) torch. If the intake tube of the halide torch is brought near the leaking joint, then the leaking gas will enter into intake tube of the torch and gives a green hue. Which is a sure indication of a gas leak.
