First u can convert the whole thing into minutes and then DIVIDE it by 60 to get the answer in hours as shown :

4hours = 4×60 min = 240 min

so, 4 hours 30 min = 240 + 30 min = 270 min

to convert 270 min into hours we divide it by 60..

270 / 60 = 9/2 = 4.5

HENCE, 4 HOURS 30 MIN = 4.5 HOURS
