Answer» The 1st and the 2nd estates enjoyed many privileges like they were not supposed to pay taxes infact they collected taxes from the 3rd estate The french society was divided into 3 estates .1st comprised of the clergies . 2nd comprised of the nobility and 3rd consisted of the common people The Nobles enjoyed feudal privileges and extracted it from the 3rd estate. The clergy extracted their share in the form of tithes. During the old regime, the french society was divided into 3 sections : 1)the nobles: the people who were related to the King and his family.2) the clergy: the religious people who were a part of the church and it\'s doing. 3) the 3rd estate: this contained all other people in France. They were the people who paid taxes like, merchants, peasants, artisans etc. |
