1.	How was Pondicherry liberated from the French ? Explain.
Answer» Even after independence of India, the French had treated Pondicherry as their colony. The Congress, the communists and other organizations urged that Pondicherry should be the part of India. After a long effort Pondicherry was liberated from the French and it was declared a Union territoiy in 1963.
