Answer» Lakshmi, a maid servant of the haveli was fed up with her husband. She left behind her suckling baby and went away. The other maids of the haveli brought up Sita with motherly affection. In spite of keeping a stern eye, they treated her with love and care. They did not allow her to play in the streets. However, the maids scolded Sita, even slapped her, when Sita was unruly. हवेली की एक सेविका लक्ष्मी अपने पति से तंग थी। वह अपने दूध-पीते बच्चे को छोड़कर चली गई। हवेली की अन्य सेविकाओं ने उसे माँ का प्यार देकर पाला। उस पर कठोरता से नजर रखने के बावजूद भी वे उसको स्नेह करती थीं। वे उसे गलियों में नहीं खेलने देती थी। फिर भी, सेविकायें उसे फटकारती थीं यहाँ तक कि थप्पड़ भी लगा देती थी जब वह उद्दंड हो जाती थी। |
