Answer» Solution :i. A solid organic compound is strongly heated with a mixture of `Na_2 CO_3` and `KNO_3` . Phosphorous present in the compound is oxidised to SODIUM PHOSPHATE. II. The residue is extracted with water and boiled with conc. `HNO_3` .A solution of ammonium molybdate is added to this solution. III. A CANARY yellow precipitate shows the presence of phosphorous.
