Sri Aurobindo has used the symbols of the tiger and the deer to demonstrate how the strong and ferocious dominate and destroy the docile and serene in Nature. It has been the same in the history of the world with strong civilizations destroying weak civilizations when they came in contact with each other. These days, the modern civilization like the tiger with its materialistic mindset is killing the healthy values of life like love, selflessness and honesty. They are being replaced with cruetly and selfishness in the pursuit of materialistic progress in personal and national life.

कवि अरविन्द चीते और हिरन के प्रतीक का प्रयोग यह दिखाने के लिये किया है कि किस प्रकार प्रकृति में शक्तिशाली और खूखार प्राणी सीधे-साधे और शान्त प्रणियों पर हावी होते हैं और उन्हें नष्ट कर डालते हैं। ऐसा ही संसार के इतिहास में होता आया है कि शक्तिशाली सभ्यतायें कमजोर सभ्यताओं को नष्ट कर देती हैं जब वे एक-दूसरे के सम्पर्क में आती हैं। आजकल अपनी भौतिकवादी मानसिकता के साथ आधुनिक सभ्यता चीते के समान जीवन के स्वस्थ मूल्यों जैसे प्यार, निस्वार्थता और ईमानदारी को समाप्त कर रही है। इनको व्यक्तिगत और राष्ट्रीय जीवन में भौतिक प्रगति के पीछे भागने हेतु क्रूरता और स्वार्थता से प्रतिस्थापित किया जा रहा है।
