Such type of island may form DUE to the interconnection of two rivers enclosing a land area between them .For EXAMPLE - Majuli in India.It is the largest riverine island in India .It was originally a long NARROW landmass stuck between two rivers Brahmaputra and Kherkutia Xuti .These rivers MET a point Lekhu .However after frequent earthquakes in that area the Brahmaputra river split into two and landmass became island . |
