Answer» Every piece will have both poles. It is COMMON, but inaccurate, to refer to the poles of a magnet as if they are distinct points or regions. The magnetic field of a magnet has a DIRECTION at each point in and around a magnet. North and south are directions, not places on a magnet. Further confusion arises because North and South, when capitalized, refer to SPECIFIC places on Earth; that MEANING is different. |
