1.

If a hollow hemisphere is melted and re-casted into small cylinder shapes with height √2 times of the radius then find the number of solid cylinder casted? Given: CSA of hemisphere = 616 cu cm.1. 22. 13. 04. 105. 30

Answer» Correct Answer - Option 3 : 0

GIVEN:

Hollow hemisphere.

⇒ Curved surface area of hemisphere = 2πr2      ----(1)

⇒ 2πr2 = 616 cu cm.

⇒ Radius (r) = 7√2 cm

CONCEPT:

1. For a hollow hemi-sphere.

“During re-casting we always consider curved surface area not volume”.

CALCULATION:

⇒ Height of cylinder = √2 times of its radius.

⇒ Height of cylinder = 14 cm.

⇒ Numbers = CSA of hemisphere/volume of cylinder

⇒ Numbers = 616/ (π x 49 x 2 x 14 )

⇒ Numbers = 0.14

Hence, no complete solid cylinder can be made.
