also in terms of spring constant                                         

 F = k ∙ x                      

hence                                          

x = (F/k)                      

hence from (1),                      

Energy = (1/2) × F × (F/k) = (F2 / 2k)                      

Here F = Tension in the spring                      

hence F = T                               

 ∴ Energy = [T2 / 2k]
