Answer» Diameter of the sun / Diameter of the earth = \(\frac{1.4\times 10^9}{1.275\times10^7}\) = \(\frac{1.4\times 10^2\times 10^7}{1.275\times10^7}\) =\(\frac{1.4}{1.275}\times100\) =\(\frac{1.4}{1.3}\times100 \simeq 100\) So the diameter of the Sun is about 100 times the diameter of the Earth. |
