Given \(\frac{3x - 1000}{4x - 1000}\) = \(\frac{1}{2}\)

6x – 2000 = 4x – 1000

⇒ 2x = 2000 ⇒ x = 1000

∴ The monthly income of A = 3x = 3 × 1000 = 3000

∴ The monthly income of B is 3(500) = 1500.
