1.

If we press tongue against palate we can recognise taste easily. Find the reason.

Answer»

(1) Taste can be identified easily when the tongue is pressed against the palate, as we know tongue is sensory in function and has taste buds.

(2) These taste buds are tiny papillae with an opening on top, within which there are several taste sensitive cells (receptors).

(3) When the tongue is pressed against the palate, the food substance is pressed against the opening of the taste bud letting it to reach the taste cells and triggering the taste signals.

(4) Finally the taste is recognised very fast.
