Answer» Correct Answer - Option 4 : Rs.70,000 Let the number of persons who donated in the campaign be x Now, 11 persons donated an average amount of 2200 ∴ Total sum collected = 42,300 + (2200 × 11) = Rs.66500 Average amount collected from (11 + x) persons is Rs.2375 ∴ Total sum collected = 2375 × (11 + x) = 26125 + 2375x ∴ 26125 + 2375x = 66500 ⇒ 2375x = 40375 ⇒ x = 17 Now, the total number of people who donated = 17 + 11 = 28 Each person donated = Rs.2500 ∴ Total amount collected = 2500 × 28 = Rs.70,000
