In an examination, Rama's score was one-twelfth of the sum of the scores of Mohan and Anjali. After a review, the score of each of them increased by 6. The revised scores of Anjali, Mohan, and Rama were in the ratio 11 : 10 : 3. Then Anjali's score exceeded Rama's score by1. 322. 353. 244. 26

Answer» Correct Answer - Option 1 : 32

Calculation:

Let the score of Rama, Mohan and Anjali be ‘x’, ‘y’ and ‘z’ respectively

According to the question,

⇒ x = 1/12 × (y + z)

⇒ 12x = y + z      ….(i)

Let the scores of Anjali, Mohan and Rama after increment of 6 be 11p, 10p and 3p

⇒ 11p = z + 6

⇒ z = 11p – 6

⇒ 10p = y + 6

⇒ y = 10p – 6

⇒ 3p = x + 6

⇒ x = 3p – 6

Put the value of x, y and z in equation (i)

⇒ 12(3p – 6) = 10p – 6 + 11p – 6

⇒ 36p – 72 = 21p – 12

⇒ 36p – 21p = 72 – 12

⇒ 15p = 60

⇒ p = 4

So, difference between Anjali’s and Rama’s score

⇒ 11p – 3p = 8p

Put the value of ‘p’

⇒ Difference between Anjali’s and Rama’s score = 8 × 4 = 32

Anjali's score exceeded Rama's score by 32
