In an infinite geometric progression, each term is equal to 3 times the sum of the terms that follow. If the first term of the series is 4, find the product of first three terms of the series? |
|
Answer» Let the series be a, ar, ar2 , ar3 ,…. According to the question a= 3ar/(1 − r) or r = 1/4. The series would be 4, 4/4, 4/16,….. and so on. The product of first three terms of the series would be 4 x 1 x 1/4 =1. |
