1.

In any ∆ABC, if a = 5, b = 6 and C = 60°, show that its area is (15√3)/2 sq. units.

Answer»

Given as

In a ∆ABC, a = 5, b = 6 and C = 60°

On using the formula,

The area of ∆ABC = 1/2 ab sinθ where, a and b are the lengths of the sides of a triangle and θ is the angle between sides.

Therefore,

Area of ∆ABC = 1/2 ab sinθ

= 1/2 × 5 × 6 × sin 60°

= 30/2 × 3/2

= (153)/2 sq. units

Thus proved.
