In joule's experiment the weithts which wer 1 1//2 kg each fell through 1m on an average. When they fell 84 times the temperature of the water in the calorimeter rose through 4^(@)C. Calculate Joule's mechanical equivalent of heat if 150g was the water equivalent of the calorimeter and its contents and the time of fall of the weights was found to be 2 seconds. Sp. heat capacity of water is 1000 cal kg^(-1)K^(-1). |
