Let a be the acceleration of each block, then

T3 = (m1 + m2 + m3)a … (i)

and T2 = (m1 + m2)a … (ii)

From Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get

T2 \(=(\frac{m_1+m_2}{m_1+m_2+m_3})\times T_3\)

\(=(\frac{10+6}{10+6+4})\times 40\)

= 32 N
