Increase in kinetic energy can overcome intermolecular forces of attraction. How will the viscosity of liquid be affected by the increase in temperature ?

Answer»

Increase
No effect
DECREASE
No REGULAR PATTERN will be followed

Solution :As the temperature increase, the kinetic energy of the molecules of liquid also increases which can overcome the intermolecular forces. Hence, liquid starts flowing.
In other words, as the viscosity of a liquid decreases, there is an increase in temperature. It has been found that the decrease is about 2% per DEGREE RISE in temperature.
