Answer» total lunar eclipse =on a full moon day if the sun, earth,and the moon are in a STRAIGHT line, the ORBITAL path of the moon passes through the umbra of the earth . when the entire moon passes though the umbra of the earth, it appears dark and become invisible. this is called total lunar eclipse.
