1.

Is respiration a chemical change? Support your answer with a reason.

Answer»

Yes respiration is a CHEMICAL change. We know that, respiration is the process of breakdown of food to form energy. As here, Glucose (C6H12O6) is oxidised to carbon dioxide (CO2) an' WATER (H2O) along with released energy at the cells by oxygen from the air that we BREATHE in. Since, Glucose is produced into new products with its DIFFERENT COMPOSITION, therefore, respiration is a chemical change.
