It is observed that a metal ball rebounds better than a rubber ball. Why? |
| Answer» Solution :When a rubber BALL strikes a SURFACE (say graound), the ball is distorted DUE to the properties of its moleules. This results in generation of large amount of heat in the ball by rubbing of the molecules against each other. But this generally does not happen in case of hard material LIKE metals, ball loses less energy on STRIKING the surface and hence it will rebound better than a rubber ball. | |
