Limewater turns milky when CO₂ is passed through it. Write scientific reasons. |
|
Answer» Lime water is actually Ca(OH)2 . When it reacts with CO2 insoluble CACO3 is formed which turns solution milky. When excess CO2 is added/more CO2 is added to it, CaCO3 reacts with water and CO2 to form Calcium bicarbonate which is soluble. That is why the solution becomes clear again. |
