  • Receiving department should be located in such a position that the goods may be quickly off loaded, checked, received and distributed to stores. 
  • The area provided for receiving department should be large enough to handle the large quantity of goods. 
  • The area should be easily cleanable and washable. 
  • It should be also well lit and as far as possible it must have the natural light coming during day time. 
  • The ramp should be made so that the goods can be carried through trolley.
