Preservation of foods like fruits (Ex. mango .pineapple, amla) can add to nutritional value of foods. 3. It prevents loss of food materials when available in bulk (Ex. banana chips) and makes food available in drought or other reasons of unavailability (Ex. biscuits). 4.
