1. Oxygen is essential for the breathing. It is used as oxidising agent in laboratory. Chlorine is used for purifying water. 

2. Graphite is used in pencil leads. 

3. Carbon is used as a fuel. 

4. Bromine is used in dyes. 

5. Iodine is used in laboratory to test for starch.

2. Antimony is used in optical discs. 

3. Tellurium is used in solar cells.
