The centroid of A₁ and A₂ are g₁(0, 10) and g₂(0, 70) respectively. ∴ The distance of centroid from top is given by: \(\bar y\) = \(\frac{100\times20\times10+20\times100\times70}{100\times20+20\times100}\) = 40 mm Hence, centroid of T-section is on the symmetric axis at a distance 40 mm from the top.
