To understand this concept we need to understand what makes a person successful manager ? Is a qualification degree for an institute of repute enough to develop the competences of a manager ? Why are experienced managers given more importance ? Thus, the prerequisite to becoming a successful manager is that firstly one should only posses the core knowledge of various theories and principles of management (management as science). Secondly, he/she should have the skill to apply such knowledge in the light of given situation in order to accomplish the desired goals (management as an art).
