Answer» Solution :(i) The use of polythene bags should be BANNED. (ii)Even if we get some materials packed in polythene, the polythene USED in packing should not be thrown into the OPEN but properly disposed off. (B) The basic reason for harmful effects of polythene is that it is non-biodegradable.The best alternative is to use paper bags or CLOTH bags.
