Then x + y = 25 ...(i)
50x + 100 y = 2000
⇒ x + 2y = 40 ...(ii)

Subtracting (i) from (ii), we get
y = 15
From (i), x = 25 – 15 = 10

Thus, Meena had 10 notes of Rs 50 and 15 notes of Rs 100.
