- the first great Civilization in the history of humanity were born alongside great rivers .Indus river culture was one of the first civilizations that emerged and it did it in the valleys of the Indus and Ganga River was this culture flourished around the year 3300 BC in what today is the Northwest of India Pakistan and Afghanistan following the Indus river. it encompassed near a hundred settlements and two large cities: Harappa and Mohenjo-daro . likes other ancient civilization independent mainly on the rivers specially Indus and Ganga River help to develop this culture chiefly for two reason.
- first ,like the Nile river in Egypt Indus river overflow every year flooding that regions and depositing fertile sediments which give an immense agricultural power that was the basis of the development of the societies. This PRODUCTIVE agriculture allowed of surplus of resources and therefore ,permitted the population increase at a large straight as never before .
- Second,the economic surplus gave place to the exchange of goods between the diverse settlements that well located on the river ,which was used as a transport these commercial good ,this way, the Indus river between a sophisticated commercial network that SHAPED this ancient civilization .
