1. NREGA: ● started in Sept 2005 ● stands for National Rural Employment Guarantee Act ● provides 100 days of assured employment in 200 rural districts ● 1/3 jobs reserved for women ● if no JOB in 15 days, daily unemployment alloance is given
2. NFWP: ● stands for National FOOD for Work Programme ● started in 2004 150 most bacward districts ● open to all rural poor who are in need of manual unskilled work ● 100% centrally SPONSORED scheme & food grains are provided free of cost.
3. PMRY: ● stands for Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana. ● started in 1993. ● to create self employment opportunities for educated unemployed youth in rural areas.
4. REGP: ● started in 1995. ● to create self employment opportunities in rural areas and small towns
5. SGSY: ●started in 1999. ●aims to bring assisted poor families above poverty line. ● stands for Swaranjayati Gram Swarozgar Yojana
6. PMGY: ● stands for Pradhana Mamtri Gramodaya Yojana. ● started in 2000. ● additional central assistance is given to states for basic services like primary health, primary education, rural shelter, rural drinking water and electrification.
7. AAY: ● stands for Antyodaya Anna Yojana ● started in December 2000. ● it is a public distribution system.
