Solution :Following changes were developed in the architecture of temples:
(i) Early temple was a SMALL square room called the garbhgriha –the house of gods and goddesses .
(ii) There was a single doorway for the worshipper to enter and offer worship to the images.
(iii) GRADUALLY the tall structure was called as .Shikhara.. It was built over the central shrine . Walls of temple were decorated with sculpture .
(iv) Later , temples becomes more elaborate - with assembly halls, huge walls and arrangements for supplying WATER .
(v) Some temples were HOLLOWED out of huge rocks as artificial CAVES .
