The small intestine has several properties which facilitate the absorption of food:-

1.It is about 6-8 metres LONG which enable it to GET more time and surface area for absorption of FOOD.

2.Very small projections called villi(sing.villus) further increases the surface area.

These were some properties of small intestine which enable it for absorption.
