1.

Name a device which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. Explain the underlying principle and working of this device with the help of a labelled diagram.

Answer»

GENERATOR is a device which CONVERTS mechanical energy into electrical energy.

It WORKS by the principle of Electromagnetic induction.

Electromagnetic induction is defined as the production of electric current DUE to the change in magnetic field. The number or turns or coils present inside the generator is directly proportional to the amount of voltage PRODUCED. Electromagnetic induction was first discovered by Micheal Faraday.
