Inflammatory barrier involves histamine and prostaglandins. Due to infection by microbe, the mast cells release histamine and prostaglandin which cause inflammation. As a result, the capillary wall becomes more permeable to phagocytes and some fluid containing serum protein with anti-bacterial activity. Ultimately, they inhibit and destroy the invading microorganisms.
