A protective layer of aluminium oxide is formed on the surface of the metal which renders the metal passive and prevents is further corrosion. (ii) Corrosion of iron is a serious problem. Every year large amount of money is spent to replace damaged iron and steel structure. Here, corrosion is a serious problem. |
