| Answer» HES, carrots, beetroots and sweet potatoes are thick , fleshy and bulging.❇This is DUE to storage of food materials.❇These are biennial plants , in which the food materials synthesized in the first year is stored in the roots ,due to which it gets bulged and become Tuberous.❇The food stores in the roots is then utilised for METABOLISM in the second year.❇ It's a ROOT modification in which the roots are modified to STORE food materials.❇In carrot, radish, beetroot ....the tap root is modified to store food .❇In Sweet potato, the Adventitious root is modified to store food. | |
