An announcement was made by the Central Government in the Parliament duringpresentation of the Budget of 2003-2004 to introduce a new structured known asContributory Pension Scheme for the candidates to be recruited in the services ofthe Central Government. As one of the measures towards this end, theGovernment of India has introduced a New Defined Contribution Pension Schemewith effect from 1.1.2004 for it's employees except the Armed Forces. TheGovernment of India has also framed an interim method as detailed rules andregulations were to be framed for the implementation of this Scheme |
