NH_(3) and HCI do not obey Henry's law. Why ? |
|
Answer» Solution :(i)Henry's law is applicable at moderate TEMPERATUREPRESSURE only. Only the less soluble gases obeys Henry's law (III)The gases reacting with solvent do not obey Henry's law. For example, ammonia a HCI REACTS with water and hence does not obey this law. `NH_(3)+H_(2)O hArr NH_(4)^(+)+OH^(-)` (iv)The gases obeying Henry's law should not associate or dissociate while dissolving in the solvent . |
