O How will you distinguish between suspension and colloid? |
|
Answer» A suspension is a type of solute in a SOLVENT which totally floats or sinks in it WITHOUT being DISSOLVED in it. On the other hand, A colloid is also a solute in a solvent but it dissolves to greater extent than a suspension. Colloid particles cannot be seen from outside but they can be seen in Tyndall effect (scattering of particles in light). For example: MUD in water is a suspension and Aerosols are COLLOIDAL particles.Hope this helps. |
